This post is a couple days later than planned, due to massive technical issues that have plagued the blog all month long. It looks like the professionals have finally gotten to the bottom of the problem though, so my blog should once again be accessible, and not running at a snail’s pace. I’m so sorry for any frustration these issues may have caused any of you over the past several weeks.
On Friday, October 23rd, I had my first ultrasound. The baby measured 6 weeks and 1 day gestation, which was a big surprise to both me and my doctor. We both guessed I should be at least 7 weeks along, if not closer to 8. When she told me the baby was only measuring 6 weeks it really worried me. But even though I could neither see nor hear it, the doctor was able to detect a heartbeat. Even though this put my mind at ease, my heart still feels really worried.
For about the past week I’ve experienced really bad nausea and indigestion, along with the 24/7 tiredness that comes along with the first trimester. I still feel perpetually tired, but the nausea and indigestion have been better the past day or two. I’m not sure whether to be relieved or worried about that! Experiencing pregnancy symptoms somehow helps give peace of mind to this worried momma!
Here is a picture of our baby. As of now, the estimated due date is 6/16/16… one day before Andrew graduates from chiropractic school! This baby looks SO MUCH smaller than Bonnie looked at her first ultrasound, when she was measuring 7.5 weeks gestation:
The next ultrasound is scheduled for Wednesday, November 4th. Between now and then, I will continue to be nervous, worried, anxious, and probably nauseated!
