We are nine weeks pregnant today, and have our last visit at our REs office this morning for our 9 week ultrasound. I will tag the picture onto the bottom of this post later today. As always, I’m equal parts nervous and excited.
What I’m really excited for it to be out of the first trimester. My mind will be more at ease at that point, and hopefully this perpetual sleepiness will subside. The nausea was better last week, but has been really bad this week, so I’m hoping that will end when I hit the second trimester too.
Just the sleepiness and nausea. If my stomach is empty, it’s nauseated, so I’m snacking all day long, every day. Something I’ve noticed the past couple days is that I’m already outgrowing my bras, which didn’t happen with my first pregnancy until I was well into the second trimester, so I’m kind of worried about how big I’m going to be by the end!
It was rainy all weekend, through Monday night, so I didn’t walk at all. Bonnie and I were able to get in a good walk yesterday, and hopefully we’ll do the same the rest of the week, contingent on the weather. Being cooped up inside makes the sleepiness even worse, so we’re spending as much time outdoors as possible.
I’ve been thinking it might be really fun not to find out the gender this time. Everything about this baby has been a surprise, so why not let the gender be a surprise too? But Andrew says he definitely wants to find out the baby’s gender. Does anyone have any thoughts on this?
Here’s what’s going on with Baby:
- Baby is about the size of a small brussels sprout.
- Has fingers, toes, eyelids, and ears… SO COOL!
- External boy or girl parts are present, but will not be detectable for at least a few more weeks.
What I am most looking forward to these days:
I’m ready for today’s ultrasound, and beyond that I’m excited for next week, when I will get to stop using progesterone suppositories. I’ve only been on them six weeks, but it’s been six weeks too long!
