Good morning! It’s hard to believe October has already come and gone. It was a HUGE month for our family, so before officially saying goodbye to it, it’s only fitting to give a quick recap of October’s events:
October 1st- We found out the practice we were hoping to purchase was still available, after being told previously that another doctor was buying it and that it would no longer be available for us to purchase.
October 2nd- We found out we are pregnant. Still wrapping our minds around this one.
October 16th- We were approved for a loan for the practice, and committed verbally to its purchase… before finding out whether or not Andrew passed boards. Talk about a leap of faith.
October 23rd- We heard our baby’s heartbeat!!! Well, the doctor heard it. I couldn’t hear a stinkin’ thing.
October 25th- We found out Andrew passed boards. Finally. We’ve made it to the homestretch!
October 26th- We OFFICIALLY purchased a practice. Scary on so many levels, but oh, so exciting.
Needless to say, the month of October has left me reeling. It seems like I’ve barely had time to catch my breath.
I’m thinking every month between now and the foreseeable future will be this way. Andrew finished classes in March, and will immediately begin his residency. Our baby is due June 16th. Andrew graduates from chiropractic school on June 17th, and then we will hit the pavement to get new practice members in our doors. We are hoping to reopen the practice in August of next year. The office has been closed for months after the former owner and doctor passed away unexpectedly, so we know we will have our work cut out for us, but we are ready, and doing at least one thing every day to help us become more ready.
So November… Whatever it is you have in store for us, bring it on.
