This week passed really slowly for me. Andrew had a few big tests, so I felt very nervous about each of those. And I am starting to feel so ready for Bonnie to be here that it makes each week creep by. I want her to be healthy when she arrives, but I want her to be healthy and ready to arrive SOON! (: After so much waiting, and so much praying, and so much believing even when we wondered if we would ever be pregnant, I can hardly believe it’s almost time for us to meet our daughter.
I went to the doctor on Thursday after going a lot longer than normal without feeling Bonnie move. I’d been up sick the night before, and was afraid that maybe my being ill made Bonnie distressed. Turns out she was completely fine… just has less room to move around than she’s had in the past! They monitored Bonnie’s heart rate and activity, as well as my uterine activity. I was definitely having regular contractions, but they were not strong, and not signs of labor.
Even though the week passed slowly, the weekend flew by, as all weekends seem to do! My mom arrived on Saturday afternoon, and we had a wonderful visit with her. She came into town for a small baby shower that some of Andrew’s classmates’ wives put together for Bonnie. I had no idea they were planning it until a week or so ago, and was so touched at their thoughtfulness. The shower was so nice, and now I feel absolutely ready for Bonnie to be here!
How far along? 36 weeks… We will finally be full-term next week!
Total weight gain? 16 pounds
Maternity clothes? Yes. And stretchy non-maternity ones.
Stretch marks? Nothing on my stomach.
Sleep: Not sleeping well at all these days… Maybe it’s just the body’s way of preparing for very little sleep after Baby gets here!
Best moment this week: Some friends put together a small baby shower for us yesterday, and it was so nice. My mom even came down for it, which made it extra special. She, Andrew, and I spent some time together Saturday, and then she and I had a wonderful time at the shower.
Miss anything? No… feeling very content this week.
Movement: She’s started moving a lot less than in weeks previous. I think this is just because she has less room to move around!
Food cravings: Watermelon, pizza, diet coke.
Anything making you feel queasy or sick: Apart from a long bout of nausea on Wednesday night, I have felt great all week.
Labor signs: Is it bad that I wish I could say yes to this question? But the answer is no. LOTS of Braxton Hicks though.
Symptoms: Nothing new. Although I do think I’ve taken on a new sort of pregnancy waddle when I walk. I’m sure it’s really attractive.
Belly button in or out? In, but getting flatter all the time.
Wedding ring on or off? Off.
Happy or moody most of the time: Happy! But ready NOT to be pregnant, and to be holding our baby in my arms!
Looking forward to: Meeting Bonnie.
What’s Going on with Baby:
- She weighs over six pounds now, which means we probably have newborn outfits hanging up that would fit her wonderfully!
- Most babies born at 36 weeks fair very well.
