First of all…
I have to apologize AGAIN for all the random posts that went up yesterday. I don’t know if that’s going to be a weekly Saturday thing or what. And I have no clue how to fix it, so please just bear with me. It might happen again!
Oh my… only 10(ish) more weeks to go, and I cannot wait to meet this little girl! Something about hitting the 30 week mark is really getting to me. I am freaking out about all that we still have left to do to prepare for this new little human who is going to be a part of our lives for the rest of our lives.
I am praying daily for patience, wisdom, empathy, energy… I want to be the best mama possible to this little girl. I want to show her Jesus every day, and I cannot wait for her to get to know Him!
Disclaimer: I literally rolled from the bed (where I was napping) to the front yard so that Andrew could take this picture. Not my finest moment, but I kept waiting for a moment over the weekend when I felt especially photogenic, and it never came. So it was this or nothing!
How far along? 30 WEEKS!!!
Total weight gain? 13 pounds
Maternity clothes? Yes. The cardigan I’m wearing in the picture came from Eve of Eden Maternity, and I absolutely love it! I’ve worn it almost every day this week. It’s really versatile, and very lightweight. It can be worn with or without the belt that ties in front.
Stretch marks? Nothing new, and nothing on my tummy.
Sleep: I am still sleeping poorly, and get up about every hour to go to the bathroom.
Best moment this week: Learning that I passed the 3-hour glucose tolerance test! Praise the Lord.
Miss anything? My naps. I didn’t take a single nap this week… not even on the weekend. I will have to make time for naps again next week!
Movement: Yes. She is moving SO MUCH now. I love it!
Food cravings: Still just ice. A friend tells me that craving ice can be a sign of iron deficiency, so I’m considering taking an iron supplement, although I’ve tried them in the past and they make my tummy sick. I’ve been trying really hard recently to eat as cleanly as possible. Even though I ended up passing the 3-hour glucose test, I know I need to be mindful of what I put into my body. And I want to have my healthy eating habits down pat when Bonnie gets here so that she can learn healthy habits from me.
Anything making you feel queasy or sick: Apart from spring allergies, which are about to do me in, I’m feeling wonderful.
Labor signs: No labor signs, but I do think I had some Braxton Hicks this week. (Although I’m not positive since I am not exactly sure what they feel like.)
Symptoms: General discomfort, itchy skin, a growing, hard belly, insomnia. But I can honestly say I am so thankful for all of it. I really love being pregnant!
Belly button in or out? In.
Wedding ring on or off? I decided to take it off this week. When I wake up, my fingers are swollen and the ring is SO tight. And during and after exercise my fingers swell up and it is even tighter. Just to be on the safe side, I’ve decided to ditch the ring until after Bonnie is born. I’m wearing another in its place.
Happy or moody most of the time: So happy! I feel so thankful for what an uneventful pregnancy this has been so far.
Looking forward to: Spending some time with family over Easter weekend.
What’s Going on with Baby:
- She weighs more than 3 pounds now.
- Her brain is growing every day.
- She is still working on settling into a proper position for birth. Most babies do not settle into a head-down position until around 36 weeks. (Bonnie was still breech at our 28 week appointment.)
And here is an update on my plants:
The only thing growing so far is the butterhead lettuce. I’m afraid I’ve drowned my basil. Seriously. I am pretty worried about it, because I think it should have started to sprout by now.
But here’s the lettuce:
