Bonnie’s little life has felt so real this week. I’ve been on cloud nine all week, just excited to meet her. I thought the reality of her sunk in during my first trimester, but maybe it hadn’t. Because this week I’ve been almost painfully excited to meet her. Getting ready for her to be a part of our lives has dominated most of my thoughts this week, and over the weekend I entered into major nesting mode. This concerns me a little because we still have 17 weeks to go before she gets here (approximately), and I know I’ve got to chill out between now and then!
How far along? 23 weeks
Total weight gain? Still 11 pounds, but I feel like I’ve grown so much just over the past couple of weeks. I walked a lot this week, so maybe that’s the reason my weight did not go up. Whatever the reason is, I’ll take it!
Maternity clothes? Yes. I still have some non-maternity tops that I wear occasionally, but for the most part, everything I’m wearing these days is maternity.
Stretch marks? No, not yet.
Sleep: Insomnia. Big time… The first three nights of the week I slept well, but the second half the week, I barely slept a wink. I feel exhausted!
Best moment this week: Mine and Andrew’s date night on Friday. We’d both been looking forward to it all week. And since the weather was so wonderful, we were able to incorporate a nice walk into our evening… my favorite!
Miss anything? Still missing home a lot. I miss my family, but I also miss the actual house where Andrew and I used to live. Not sure why I’ve been so exceptionally homesick recently, but I’ve really been praying that God would open my heart to Atlanta for the short time that we are here. It doesn’t have to feel like home, but it’s gotta be bearable.
Movement: Yes… I still feel her most really early in the morning (like 3 am), and then early in the afternoon. I’ll feel her some in between now too!
Food cravings: Tomato sandwiches. I’ve been eating them all week. And pretty much anything else that’s edible. I’ve felt so hungry lately.
Anything making you feel queasy or sick: Umm… the ridiculously high gas bill we got in the mail after such a cold month last month. I thought I was gonna pass out when I opened it! Just kidding… I have felt really good this week.
Labor signs: No.
Symptoms: Nothing new except that my hunger definitely seems to have increased recently.
Belly button in or out? In.
Wedding ring on or off? On.
Happy or moody most of the time: Happy this week… much less emotional than last week!
Looking forward to: Getting all of Andrew’s midterm grades in. He still has a few more tests this week, but he was able to get some of the biggies out of the way last week, which was a great thing.
What’s Going on with Baby:
- She is only a tiny bit bigger than last week.
- By the month’s end she will be double the weight she is now!
- Her lungs are rapidly developing.
- Her uterus and ovaries have developed.
