Well, it’s been an interesting week around
here, and I’m really looking forward to this new week being a little less interesting, and a little more “normal.” (Is there such a thing as a normal week?)
Several of Andrew’s classes were cancelled last week due to the weather, so it’s looking like some of his midterms might get pushed back a week or so. This means we have a whole extra week to study, and to pray him through! (:
Since the weather put everything to a screeching halt for a few days here, I had lots of down time, and took full advantage of every moment of it. That being said, it will still be nice to get back into the swing of a routine this week.
Here’s what is going on with Bonnie and me:
(I will try not to make a habit of drawing each week’s fruit… Andrew said my papaya looks like a spaceship!)
How far along? 22 weeks
Total weight gain? 11 pounds. I know gaining weight during pregnancy is normal, but I feel enormous.
Maternity clothes? Yep. Pretty much every day. And I’m still loving the leggings!
Stretch marks? None so far!
Sleep: Overall, it’s been okay. I’m still waking up each night with leg cramps, and I use the bathroom a few times during the night as well.
Best moment this week: Hearing Bonnie’s heartbeat on Wednesday after our little scare, and knowing that she was okay.
Miss anything? Sunshine, Nashville, and tummy sleeping… in that order. I’ve been so homesick lately.
Movement: Yes! She moves most early in the morning and late in the afternoon.
Food cravings: Grapes, and Panera’s soup in a bread bowl… I haven’t had their bread bowl in YEARS.
Anything making you feel queasy or sick: Although there is nothing specific that’s making me feel sick, I have felt sick most of the week. I still don’t feel totally like myself, but Bonnie’s fine, and I’m fine, so I’m sure I’ll snap out of it eventually!
Showing? Yes. Showing more and more all the time!
Gender: She’s a girl.
Labor signs: No.
Symptoms: Growing belly and feeling sleepy a lot (this had gotten better for several weeks, but the tiredness seems to be creeping back up on me.) I’m experiencing occasional cramps, but they aren’t anything significant. Something that IS significant (and kind of awful) is that my hair is falling out like crazy, and it’s a lot thinner now than it was pre-pregnancy. Has anyone else experienced this?
Belly button in or out? In.
Wedding ring on or off? On.
Happy or moody most of the time: This has been kind of an off week all the way around, and I’ve been a little emotional and extra-sentimental, oh… and homesick… but still happy!!! (Overall I just have not really been myself.)
Looking forward to: Putting Bonnie’s stroller and car seat together. My aunt SHOCKED us last week when, out of the blue, a huge gift showed up on our doorstep! We’ve finished our registry, but have not told many people where we registered, so it never crossed my mind that someone would buy us something this early on… and especially not something so big and important! Even though it’s really early to already have these things assembled, I’d rather do it now so that we don’t run the risk of losing any parts or pieces!
I’m also looking forward to seeing to valances my mom made for the nursery. She bought me a set of Holly Hobbie sheets for Christmas, and I asked her to make curtains out of them. She sent me a picture last night, but I can’t wait to see them in person!
What’s Going on with Baby:
- Bonnie weighs a pound or more by now!
- She is about 11 inches long.
- Her lips, eyelids, and eyebrows are becoming more distinct.
- Her eyes have also formed, but irises still lack pigment (which means the colored part of the eye is not yet colored.)
