This week passed pretty quickly… It’s hard to believe Christmas is already here! We spent the weekend moving, and I’m so glad we decided to move before our Christmas traveling. This way it’s not hanging over our heads, and we have a clean, unpacked house to come home to.
Andrew’s week ended with a bang… He got a 96% on his last final exam of the quarter. It was his visceral anatomy test. He was really nervous about it, and is shocked that he ended on such a high note. He passed all of his classes, and now has a few weeks to rest up before starting on his 5th quarter of chiropractic school.
I’ve felt great this week! It seems like some of my missing energy has finally returned. I have not taken a nap at all this week, and haven’t really missed it, so that is huge! I do look tired in this week’s photo, but it was taken after a long weekend of moving, unpacking, and working until all hours of the night. But overall, I feel really good, and I definitely feel a renewed energy.
How far along? 14 weeks
Total weight gain? I still don’t feel like I’ve gained any, but I have not weighed myself, so I can’t be certain… won’t have an official weigh-in until our next OB appointment.
Maternity clothes? They are still unnecessary, but my jeans do seem to be getting a big snug. Leggings are MUCH more comfortable at this point.
Stretch marks? No.
Sleep: I have good nights and not-so-good ones. I’m still getting up to go to the bathroom 3 or 4 times each night, but I can usually fall back asleep immediately after getting up, which is nice.
Best moment this week: Moving out of our previous rental. That house never sat just right with me, and the year we spent there was so difficult. Moving out of it is a symbol of moving forward and beginning a new chapter of our lives. Silly? Perhaps.
Miss anything? Nashville… I’ve been feeling a little homesick recently.
Movement: I wish, but no! I’ve heard that around 20 weeks is the most common time for women to begin feeling any sort of movement.
Food cravings: The Strawberry-Poppyseed Salad (I think that’s what it is called) from Panera Bread. The only problem is, it must be seasonal, because they do not offer it right now…
Anything making you feel queasy or sick: Not really. I think those days are behind me. And thankfully, they were short-lived! Overall, my first trimester was pretty painless.
Showing? I believe so. Andrew still says no. I think it also depends on what I’m wearing. I normally wear pretty baggy/loose tops, and I definitely don’t show while wearing those.
Gender: I have a hunch….
Labor signs: No way, Jose.
Symptoms: None this week. Unless you count peeing a lot as a pregnancy symptom.
Belly button in or out?
Wedding ring on or off? On. And Andrew and my mom collaborated to get me a new ring for Christmas, using some of my mom’s old diamonds. It is so pretty!
Happy or moody most of the time: Happy, happy, happy!!! So happy. The only thing that could possibly make me happier is if we still lived 2 miles from my parents… that way they could share in every ounce of my happiness from a close distance!
Looking forward to: Seeing family for Christmas. We head to North Carolina after I get off work tomorrow to spend Christmas with Andrew’s family, and then we will head to Nashville on the 27th to spend a couple days with mine before heading back to Georgia.
What’s Going on with Baby:
- Our baby is about the size of a lemon now… about 3.5 inches.
- Baby weighs about 1.5 ounces.
- Has a strong heartbeat that can be detected by doppler.
- The baby can squint, frown, and even suck his or her thumb!
