In a nutshell, I’m feeling huge. And beyond uncomfortable. In pictures I don’t look so bad, but I feel like a giant whale. Otherwise, all is well, so no major complaints here!
How far along? 31 weeks
Total weight gain? 15 pounds as of Monday, which is a little more than I’d gained with Bonnie at this point, but less than I thought I’d gained, so I’m pleased with that. (You can click here to read my 31 week update on my pregnancy with Bonnie.)
Maternity clothes? Yes. The dress I’m wearing in this week’s picture is maternity and it is almost too small!!!
Stretch marks? Nothing yet.
Sleep: No improvement in the sleeping department!
Best moment this week: The extra time I’ve had with my family since we’ve moved back has been amazing. I also got to hear Nora’s heartbeat at last week’s appointment, which never gets old! Oh, and we found out Andrew got the job he was hoping for. He spends about 42 hours per week at his residency, but that’s an unpaid position, so he knew that as soon as we got settled here he would need to look for a job. He will be working early, early morning, about 25 hours per week. This is a huge answer to prayer.
Miss anything? Sleeping. And having a normal sized belly that is not as hard as a rock. That being said, the experience of being pregnant is still pretty incredible.
Movement: Tons of movement. And I can see her moving so well, which means I usually have a good idea of her position. This is something I didn’t experience with Bonnie since I had an anterior placenta with her, so I still get giddy when I get to watch Nora roll across my belly, or when I see her butt poke out of my side.
Food cravings: Still ice. I was really craving fresh guacamole a few days ago. Andrew made a big batch for me. What a guy!
Anything making you feel queasy or sick: Nope… I feel less than my best overall, but definitely not sick, and never queasy.
Showing? Big time.
Gender: Another girl!
Labor signs: Nada.
Symptoms: Itchy, itchy, itchy skin. And I’ve had a couple bad bouts of heartburn.
Belly button in or out? It’s flat, but has not popped out yet.
Wedding ring on or off? On. I haven’t experienced the swelling in my hands yet that I did with Bonnie.
Happy or moody most of the time: So happy, but increasingly uncomfortable, and becoming more excited (and maybe a tiny bit apprehensive) about Nora’s actual birth!
Looking forward to: Meeting our little girl! And some Spring weather. These cold temps have thrown me off a little!
What’s Going on with Baby:
- She is over 3 pounds, and 18 inches long. Her weight will be double, or more, by the time she is born! Goodness gracious!
- She is now able to process information, track light, and perceive signals from all five senses. Which means, I guess, that she’s perfectly aware when Bonnie is sitting or lying on her.
