I have my last appointment at my midwife’s office later today. From now until Baby Girl is born the appointments will be weekly, and at my house. But hopefully there won’t be many more appointments after this one!
My Group B Strep swap is today, and once the results come back my midwife feels comfortable with her being born at home. So getting those results back will put my mind at ease, and help me feel like she is ready to come. And when I hit the 37-week mark I will start going crazy with anticipation. So I have about one more week of sanity left. Let the countdown begin.
How far along? 36 weeks
Total weight gain? 20 pounds. I was hoping not to hit the big 2-0, but it snuck up on me!
Maternity clothes? Yes. And stretchy non-maternity clothes like maxi skirts.
Stretch marks? None yet.
Sleep: Better than it has been in months. Not great, but so much better.
Best moment this week: Bonnie had a friend over earlier this week, and I noticed lots of sweet interactions between the two of them. And the next day she told me, “Baby Cooper plays Bonnie yesterday.” So that was pretty stinkin’ cute. Another best moment (because I can never pick just one) was at my sister’s house over the weekend when I got to sneak in a nap, knowing that Bonnie was at least being loosely supervised by someone other than me. It was amazing!
Miss anything? No… feeling very content.
Movement: She’s still a big mover, although her movements feel different now that she’s bigger than they have in the past.
Food cravings: Watermelon, ice. And pretty much anything sweet, other than ice cream, which is weird.
Anything making you feel queasy or sick: No. I’m still feeling very well physically.
Labor signs: Nothing apart from Braxton Hicks.
Symptoms: Nothing new. Except that Andrew informed me yesterday that I’ve taken on a bit of a pregnancy waddle. I’m hoping this is due to Baby’s getting lower, perhaps?
Belly button in or out? Out.
Wedding ring on or off? On.
Happy or moody most of the time: I’ve been very happy this week.
Looking forward to: Meeting our girl!!!
What’s Going on with Baby:
- She weighs around six pounds now, which means we probably have newborn outfits hanging up that would fit her wonderfully!
- Her liver and kidneys are fully functional, and she’s practicing her breathing.
- Most babies born at 36 weeks fair very well.
The little big of exercise I was getting stopped this week, when my walks seemed to be giving me pretty strong contractions. Although I’m sure they weren’t anything to worry about, I’ve been really paranoid about going into labor too early (one of my biggest fears is having a baby that has to spend time in the NICU, away from me.) So just to be safe I stopped walking. I will pick the walks back up after today’s appointment if all is well!
