Obviously, publishing two blog posts per week was too lofty a goal. And honestly, I’m not even sure what to type today. I haven’t baked or cooked any blog-worthy recipes, I haven’t had any blog-worthy epiphanies, I haven’t done any blog-worthy DIYs. I haven’t done any DIYs at all, for that matter.
I have tried a few Pinterest recipes lately that have been successes.
This lentil pasta was so easy, and really good. I’m not typically a meatloaf gal, but this recipe was a big hit with the whole family (which almost never happens.) This one-pan garlic and herb chicken and asparagus was was quick and easy. The girls ate the chicken, but not the asparagus. No surprise there! And finally, this cheesy chicken and broccoli casserole was AMAZING, as far as casseroles go. I wish I’d made an extra as a freezer meal.
Audrey seems to be going through a schedule change, and is acting ready to drop down to one nap per day. The problem is that she wakes up so early, she’s often ready for that first nap by 9am, and then exhausted and ready for bed by 5pm. If I can push her until 11am or so, she often takes such a short nap that she’s STILL ready for bed super early, and then wakes for the day early, and the cycle continues day after day. So, we are going through some growing pains there. Otherwise, she’s pretty incredible.
Bonnie is incredible too, but SO HARD. I kinda thought the twos were tough, but the threes are tougher. Maybe I didn’t navigate the twos right or something? I am exhausted by the end of each day, between her refusing to let herself calm down enough to take a nap, and feeling like I spend all day disciplining her. It’s so easy to let myself feel defeated.
So, any tried and true advice for reaching, teaching, and disciplining a strong-willed three year old is welcome. I’m begging for it!
