So, I am sentimental to the extreme. I reminisce about jean shopping, for Pete’s sake. Historically, Valentines Day has not been a big to-do for us. I even have a hard time remembering what Andrew and I did for Valentines Day last year. I do remember that I was nearly 22 weeks pregnant, helping my sister plan her March wedding, and impatiently waiting for Andrew to finish school already.
And oh, what a difference a year makes. Bonnie will be 8 months old in two days. Avery and Brandon have been married nearly a year now, and are moving into their first house in a couple of weeks. The only thing that hasn’t changed is that I’m still waiting for Andrew to finish school!
I’m not sure what I’ll be saying next year about this year’s Valentines Day… probably that it was Bonnie’s first Valentines Day, and she celebrated by going to bed at 5:30pm. It’s this new thing she’s started lately, sleeping 14 hours per night. That sweet little weirdo.
Andrew and I have chosen not to exchange Valentines Day gifts this year, although I will be using his phone upgrade to get my first new phone since… sophomore year of college???
But I do love giving gifts, whatever the occasion. So I’ve partnered with Jessi, of Life Abundant Blog, to bring a Valentines Day gift to you guys! Well, one of you anyway. I’d love to give each of you something to show my appreciation for your support over the past few years. I am so thankful for the relationships that God has brought into my life through this blog. I say that a lot, and that’s because it’s impossible to say it enough.
As much as I love giving gifts, I also love getting them! So lots of thoughts went into picking out the items for today’s giveaway. These are all things I would be thrilled to be given, on Valentines Day or any other day of the year!
1) The cookbook Against All Grain: Meals made Simple, was written by one of my favorite food bloggers. You can find Danielle at Against All Grain. This book is great because it is filled with such simple, practical meals, as well as easy-to-follow meal plans and make-ahead options. Not only is this a really useful book, but it’s so pretty to look at!
2) A teal book stand for your new cookbook, from Interesting Interiors.
3) And finally, a bookmark from Soul Cyster Creations, whose Etsy shop I’ve mentioned a few times recently. Her shop is in vacation mode right now, due to a death in her family, but once she’s back, please go check out her stuff. She has some really beautiful, sentimental things.
