We’ve chosen to be extra conservative with gift giving this Christmas season, partly because of necessity and partly because of principle. But even so, I love giving and getting a good gift as much as the next person!
The holidays can be really difficult for women trudging through infertility. And if we allow our joy to be dictated by our circumstances, the holidays can be downright miserable: surrounded by family, surrounded by nieces, nephews, small cousins, adult relatives asking when you plan to start a family of your own, pregnancy announcements at their peak, cute gender reveals that leave you in tears… The list of uncomfortable scenarios goes on and on.
So if someone in your life is struggling to conceive this Christmas season, you may consider treating them to a special gift this year!
Aromatherapy shower head: This thing is pretty snazzy, and would make a really unique gift. You can get a handheld version or one that mounts onto the wall. Its features include chlorine reduction, Vitamin C, and a sweet and tangy aroma, thanks to its Vitamin C cartridge that contains lemon oil.
Thrive Market membership: I’ve been really pleased with Thrive Market this year, and think that a year-long membership would make a great gift. Their prices are so good, and they have a huge selection of anything from food to makeup to clothing.
Adult coloring book: Infertility is stressful. Depending on where you are in your journey with PCOS, that can be stressful too, even apart from infertility. Apparently, coloring is an amazing stress reliever. My mom gave me a grown up coloring book and I’m having such a good time with it. It really does help me decompress! I especially like the ones with scripture and uplifting quotes.
Scotch Naturals non-toxic nail polish: Of course I like the teal, but they have lots of really lovely color options. Everything on their site is sold out right now but you can find their products at Luckyvitamin.com and Naturalbeauty.com.
Stitch Fix gift card: Because PCOS can make you feel ugly, and new clothes help you feel pretty again, especially when they are picked out by your own, personal stylist.
PCOS/TTC jewelry: I love anything from Soul Cyster Creations. She has a great story and her prices are so reasonable. But a quick Etsy search will turn up lots of beautiful jewelry options for the cyster in your life!
