Sorry I’ve been missing in action around here lately. Every time I commit to blogging “x” amount of times weekly, something happens that bumps blogging down a notch on the priority list. That’s life, right?!
Last year I talked about how Bonnie celebrated Halloween the entire month of October, and was SO INTO IT. It was really precious. This year we did not talk about Halloween much leading up to the very week of Halloween. We had a fall festival at church on Sunday, she had a Halloween party at Mothers’ Day Out on Monday, then and we went trunk or treating on Tuesday. Since we’d left out all the hype leading up to Halloween this year, she was over-the-moon excited come Tuesday. And so surprise. We spent the day with my parents. Bonnie had been asking for a “campfire,” so my dad made her day by building her a little fire. They roasted marshmallows, and the whole experience lasted all of maybe 20 minutes. But she ate it up.
We went grocery shopping and the clerk gave the girls each a fun-sized candy bar. They thought that was awesome.
The whole day was low key, and fun, and just… good. And so needed.
I mean, we didn’t win any costume awards or anything, but we did eat lots (and lots!) of candy!
And now that Halloween is over I’m attempting to get into Christmas mode. Because if I don’t get there soon, it’ll be over before I know it! Crazy how fast time flies these days.
