I am relatively new to the whole essential oils craze that seems to have swept social media lately, but I’m loving learning, and I am certainly loving using new oils as I get them. And as of yesterday, I have an essential oils testimony of my own to share!
On Monday night I went to bed with a splitting headache, and even wondered if it could be a migraine. I woke up Tuesday morning feeling even worse, running a little fever, and aching ALL OVER. Andrew ended up coming home from school early so that he could tend to Bonnie some. That’s how miserable I was feeling.
I put some Thieves oil in our diffuser hoping that it would help clean the air and minimize Bonnie’s chances of getting sick. By mid-afternoon, when I was still feeling progressively worse, I decided to take a bath, hoping at least to relieve some of the aches and pains in the rest of my body, if not the sinus pressure in my head.
This is when essential oils for sinuses arrived on the scene. I began filling the bathtub with warm water, and poured into it:
I stayed in the tub about 20 minutes. The result? Major sinus drainage. YAY! I was hoping that the sinus pressure relief alone would be enough to zap my headache, but it wasn’t. So I used a drop of PanAway on each of my temples, and although I cannot say I experienced any miraculous healing, it helped significantly.
Although I am still feeling a little under the weather, I no longer have a fever, and it was SO nice to have my husband home yesterday!
I drank a cup of lemon ginger hot tea, and added a drop of lemon essential oil to it, along with some honey. But I’ve read that cutting out dairy and sugar can help when battling sinus infections or the flu, so no dairy or sugar for me for the next few days!
